Where is your Doctor’s Syringe from?

FDASyringe Safety Warning
Injection
Stop using syringes from specific manufacturers in China

Safety is a number one concern for AcuMed Wellness & Acupuncture. Injection therapy is a popular treatment. The FDA is warning that some manufacturers who were not authorized to make syringes for distribution in the United States have done so. Concerns about dosage, leaks, breakage, quality, unexpected failures, and unexplained failures have been documented by the FDA. The FDA stated to immediately stop using syringes from “Jiangsu Caina Medical Co. Ltd and unauthorized plastic syringes manufactured by Jiangsu Shenli Medical Production Co. Ltd.”

When checking the current stock of syringes at AcuMed it could not be determined if there are any syringes manufactured by one of the companies listed by the FDA, only that the country of origin is China. Out of an abundance of caution for the patients of AcuMed all of the syringes have been pulled from stock and disposed of. New syringes have been ordered from BD, Becton, Dickinson & Company who makes their syringes in Nebraska and Connecticut.  Stock will be replenished within one week. Until the new syringes are in stock injection therapy will not be available.

If you are getting an injection in a non-emergency situation please ask your healthcare provider if they know the origin of their syringes. Ask if they are following the FDA’s warning on syringes from China. You are your best advocate when it comes to your healthcare.
